Spending power student up!

Geplaatst door: Anka Jacobs, 20-1-2010 22:44:31

Duel income households with or without children, welfare recipients, and single households, everyone is going to feel the tax increases. Everyone, except for students with part-time jobs, they can expect 4 Euros more at the end of each month.

This tax year, if students earn less than 5950 Euros annually, they do not have to pay taxes. Hence, the increase in taxes will not have an impact on the student’s wallet. Other factors that play a part in the student’s increased spending power is that wages are increasing a bit faster than the cost of living and the government contribution that students receive in the Netherlands are up a bit as well. So despite the increase in college tuition, students can expect to gain .5 percent in economic spending power.

Students should not neglect to request a tax refund.

The organization “Nibud” responsible for presenting this information emphasizes that an increase in spending power has little impact on individual salaries. Factors that do have an impact are whether someone moves, changes jobs, or robbed.
